Dr. James Everett
Ensuring learning thrives and students feel as though they belong in Meridian School District means we are working to provide multiple opportunities for all of our students to learn at high levels, explore areas of interest, and graduate with the skills and knowledge to successfully pursue their life goals, whatever they may be.
Prior to becoming superintendent in 2018, James was principal of Squalicum High School from 2015 to 2018 and served as principal and director of Career and Technical Education at Meridian High School from 2011 to 2015.
James has almost 30 years of teaching experience, including teaching and coaching middle and high school students in the Nooksack Valley School District, high school students at Bellingham High School, and teaching educators for the Teacher Leadership Project in Washington, for Microsoft’s Partners in Learning Program in Cairo, Egypt, and for International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) in Alaska, Tennessee, Cairo, Egypt, and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
James is a graduate of Western Washington University, and earned master’s degrees from City University in Integrated Curriculum Design and Educational Technology. He also holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington’s Leadership for Learning (L4L) Program.
