Thank you to those who have already submitted their feedback about the Facilities Task Force recommendation that we shared with you last week. We have already received some great questions and have created a Facilities FAQ webpage with answers to some of those questions.

Part of the task force’s recommendation is to build a new Meridian Middle School. Please take a moment to watch this short-video about why the task force recommended Meridian Middle School be rebuilt.

In addition to building a new middle school, the task force is recommending that the middle school could be built large enough to accommodate fifth graders, helping to alleviate overcrowding at Irene Reither Elementary. The task force’s recommendation also includes projects at Meridian High School. You can learn about all of the projects included in the task force’s recommendation on our website.

We also invite you to a presentation by the Facilities Task Force at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Meridian Middle School (861 Ten Mile Road, Lynden, WA). The task force will review their recommendation and provide an opportunity for questions. We are continuing to collect feedback through an online form until 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 23.

You can follow the progress of the Facilities Task Force on our website.
