A Message from Superintendent James Everett

Air quality levels in the region have become a major concern for all of our health, and the Meridian School District has been monitoring the situation per the recommendations of the State Department of Health

If air quality monitors register YELLOW, which is considered moderate, students with health conditions will be allowed to stay inside during recess or P.E. Students with those same sensitivities will be allowed to opt out of athletics and coaches will be reminded to increase rest periods.

If air quality monitors register ORANGE or RED in the region, which is considered an unhealthy level, the district will place restrictions on outdoor recess, P.E., and athletic practices or games. Any changes to athletic practices or games will be communicated directly to families via FinalForms by our athletic director.

We thank you for your patience, flexibility and trust that we are doing everything possible to allow for safe activities. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your building principal or athletic director.

Dr. James Everett
Superintendent
