A Message from Superintendent James Everett
Dear families, staff and students,
A number of tragic events have occurred both locally and nationally in the past few months. We are still reeling from the loss of students to suicide in nearby school districts and struggling with the senseless violence of mass shootings across the country. We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of the school shooting in Texas and our hearts go out to those impacted by this tragedy.
The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is a top priority. We have plans and procedures in place to deal with threats and other emergency situations. We strive daily to make our schools a welcoming and safe environment.
I want to remind staff, families and students that we have an anonymous reporting tip line for safety concerns. I would also encourage students to reach out to a trusted adult if they have concerns about themselves or someone they care about. Our school counselors and behavioral health coordinator are here to support you. We have posted resources for families for talking to children about violence and traumatic events. Staff may access support through our Employee Assistance Program.
I encourage you, if you or your student need help please reach out to our schools or take a moment to review the resources posted on our website.
James
