Good Evening Meridian Families and Students,
Given the heavy rains we received today and the saturation of the ground, the water in culverts and covering many of our roads, the fullness of the Nooksack River and creeks – and the forecasted rain for tonight, we are going to operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, November 29, 2021. Not only will the delay allow us to assess the impact of new rain tonight on our roads, but it will also allow daylight for our younger drivers and additional time for any staff who may be challenged by closed roads to make it into the district for the delayed start.
Our primary concern is for the safety of everyone in the district. If there is a change to cancel school tomorrow, we will share out by 6:30 a.m. so you may solidify your plans. Otherwise, plan for a two-hour delay. Thank you – and travel safely.
