Dear MMS Families,

Next week is Education Support Professionals Week.  This week recognizes secretaries, paraeducators, student monitors, custodial and maintenance staff, bus drivers, food service workers, family and health services staff, tech support and librarians.  We could not move student learning forward each day without these tireless professionals and their dedication.  This would be a great opportunity to reach out to any of these employees that have made a difference in your student’s experience to let them know.  Additionally, you could submit a nomination for them to our annual Thrive Awards (see below).

We’d also like to highlight the request (below) from Mrs. Yeager for 8th grade families to send in baby pictures.  Having these in the MMS yearbook has been a Meridian tradition for at least 25 years.  Photos can be submitted to Mrs. Yeager via email, through the app, or physically at the MMS office.

As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

GO TROJANS!

Meridian Annual Awards

Each year Meridian School District provides the opportunity for parents, staff, students, and community members to nominate a Meridian staff member for recognition for outstanding service.  This year, these awards have been rebranded as the “Thrive Awards” and align with our new strategic plan and our five commitments – Belonging, Communication, Support, Wellness, and Learning.

If you know a Meridian staff member who has exceeded your expectations in those areas – please take a moment to submit a nomination.  For more information on the awards, please visit our website.

Attendance Tips
It can be necessary to miss school when you have an important appointment. Making
appointments outside of school hours is best, but not always possible. Aiming for first thing in the morning or last thing in the afternoon can help you miss the least amount of school possible!

Students who qualify for free or reduced meals can stop by to get school supplies or sign up for Operation School Bell which provides new school clothes for students enrolled in Meridian School District.
