As we continue to experience extreme weather conditions including cold temperatures and strong winds, we want to take this opportunity to remind you of our weather notification and procedures. It is also important to make sure your children are dressed warmly for the cold conditions. Families who are in need of warm clothing can reach out to our family support center at 360-318-2486 or 360-306-2886 (Spanish) to browse our clothing closet.
We do our best to notify families and staff as quickly as possible when schedule changes are needed. If you are a parent or staff member in our district you will receive automatic notification if there are any changes to the school schedule due to inclement weather. This information is sent through ParentSquare as an email, text, app notification and/or phone call.
We also use a variety of other methods to keep you informed:
-
Tune to local media: 790 AM, 96.5 FM, 104.1 FM or Seattle media.
-
Check www.meridian.wednet.edu
-
Check @meridianschooldistrict505 on Facebook or Instagram
We have additional information on our website about schedule delays, what happens if schools are closed, how decisions are made and snow bus routes.
Stay safe and warm!
