Kindergarten registration begins March 6
Know a child turning 5 before Sept. 1?
Register for kindergarten in Meridian School District! Kindergarten registration for the 2023-24 school year begins Monday, March 6. Children must be 5-years-old before Sept. 1, 2023 to be eligible.
Children learn through play and engaging hands-on experiences. In kindergarten, children will learn how to make friends, share and grow in many ways. They will learn to read, write and develop math skills. Learn more about our early childhood education programs.
Families can register their child online beginning March 6.
Transitional Kindergarten application window opens March 6

School improvement family survey, complete by Feb. 28
For us to continue to improve as a school district, it is important for us to understand your perceptions about how we are doing in providing a quality education for all our students. The survey is available in many languages. We are seeking information through a brief 10-minute survey that is available now through Feb. 28.
High School Families: Interest survey for Whatcom County Skill Center
In order to provide more opportunities for our students, school districts in Whatcom County are working together to try and bring a skills center to Whatcom County. Currently, the closest skills center is Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA) in Mount Vernon. Students enrolled in skills centers receive free technical and professional training in a variety of fields including but not limited to fire science, welding, animation and graphic design, applied medical science, criminal justice, dental assisting, veterinary assisting and video game development. Please take a moment to fill out this brief 5-minute survey by Wednesday, March 1.
Budget feedback extended to Friday, March 3
We shared a budget update with staff, families and community earlier this month. We are working on the budget for the 2023-24 school year and currently focusing on establishing our key budget priorities. We want to provide an opportunity for staff, families and our community to weigh in. By Friday, March 3, please take a moment to answer the question, “As we plan for the next school year, what are the most important things we should consider in order to support all of our students?”
