Trojan family,
Next week we will post progress grades to Skyward under the “Portfolio” tab. This is done every 6 weeks to provide a snapshot of student progress at that point, but are not official grades. We’d encourage families to log in to Skyward and take a look so you can support your students on the final stretch to the end of the year.
This Wednesday, Whatcom Therapy Dogs will be visiting our lunches! They’ll be stationed in the Old Cafeteria, where students can stop by for some calming cuddles with these trained support dogs. Spending time with dogs has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and boost endorphins – leaving you feeling happier and more relaxed. Don’t miss this chance!
As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Go Trojans!

Mr. Kratzig, Assistant Principal

Why Build a New Meridian Middle School?
On April 22, our community will vote on a bond measure to build a new Meridian Middle School. This bond focuses solely on building a new Meridian Middle School, which our community expressed as a continued priority in recent feedback. Built in 1938, our current middle school is costly to maintain and fails to meet modern safety, accessibility and energy standards. A new school would address these issues, providing a safer, more accessible environment for students and staff.

Smarter Balanced (SBA) Retake Option
Students in 11th or 12th grades who did not pass the English or Math Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in 10th grade have the option to retake it in 11th or 12th grade. While retaking the SBA is not required, it can be retaken by those who wish to use it as a graduation pathway who have not yet passed.
