Hello everyone,

May is Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month and it is dedicated to recognizing the rich history, vibrant cultures, and significant contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to our country and our world.  At Meridian High School, we are proud of our diverse community and committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all cultures are acknowledged and celebrated. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have played an integral role in shaping our society, and their contributions continue to enrich our lives in countless ways.

This month offers us a chance to reflect on the unique challenges faced by Asian American and Pacific Islander communities throughout history and to honor their resilience and achievements. From pioneering innovations in technology and science to inspiring works in literature and the arts, the impact of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders is profound and far-reaching.

This is a good opportunity to learn more about the remarkable history and achievements of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and to celebrate the diversity that makes our school and our society so vibrant.

Thank you for your continued support in making Meridian High School a place where every culture is celebrated.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 360.398.8111. If you need translation support, please contact our cultural liaison, Elvira Trautman at 360.306.2886.

National Paperclip Day

Paperclip Day is a fun holiday celebrated every year on May 29. It is a cool opportunity to show some appreciation for paper clips and their benefits. For years, paper clips have helped us hold sheets of paper together. Many important documents have impacted history that were bound by paper clips. They are quite common and can be found in most offices and schools.
