Last year we introduced our new strategic plan called Our Commitments. The plan was created in partnership with staff, families, students and our community. Our Commitments has five core values: belonging, communication, support, wellness and learning. We wanted to hear from different people about what these values mean to them.

Why did you pick learning?
“Learning is so important. I love learning. Especially here, I like how they teach. All of the teachers are very kind. They help you individually like if you’re struggling with something, they’re going to help you and make you feel welcome. You feel important and feel like a part of the class. I enjoy learning about everything, but I specifically enjoy learning about writing because I know that writing is going to help me grow.”
Victor, freshman at Meridian High School
Why did you pick support?
“I feel supported when my classmates or teachers help explain what an assignment is about. It makes me feel more involved and confident. Also, in high school, there is a period called T3. T3 helps me catch up on and improve in a class that I am struggling with. I really like T3 because it makes me feel supported and not stressed out about my grades.”

Why is wellness important?
“Health and wellness are key to achieving success. Having the right balance in life is paramount in athletics and activities. Keeping your mind and body healthy leads to a better, fuller life.”
