Dear Meridian High School Students, Parents, and Staff:

Welcome back! I hope each of you had a restful and recharging Winter Break!  We have just 17 school days left until the end of the semester and I have no doubt that our students and staff are ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

As we dive into the final stretch of the semester, let’s approach it with enthusiasm, determination, and a positive mindset. Whether you’re a student working on final projects and exams, a teacher guiding your students toward academic success, or a family supporting your student, let’s come together as a community to make these last few weeks memorable and successful!

To all students, remember that your teachers and the entire school staff are here to support you. If you have questions, concerns, or just need a bit of encouragement, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re a team, and together, we can overcome any challenges that come our way.

With our community collaboration, I’m confident that we can make these last 17 days both productive and enjoyable. Let’s finish the semester strong, Meridian High School! Together, we’ve got this!

Thank you for your continued commitment to our school community and for choosing kindness in all that you do.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 360-398-8111. If you need translation support, please contact our cultural liaison, Elvira Trautman at 360-306-2886.
Sincerely,
MHS Office Team

Attendance Information

Being present in class is vital to be successful in school. We want to encourage all of our students to be at school every day! If you are missing school, you are missing out on learning!

If your kids miss a day or even part of a day of school for whatever reason, please contact our attendance secretary, Mrs. McMains by either phone (360-318-2260), email (tgmcmains@meridian.wednet.edu) or parent square with the reason for the absence. If they are going to miss because of an illness, please call or email in the morning and let us know! If there is a planned absence, please contact her and she will take care of notifying teachers. National Spaghetti Day

Though the origins of spaghetti are disputed—whether it was Marco Polo bringing back culinary invention from the East, and Arab trade-route delicacy, or a home-grown Sicilian treat dating back to the 12th Century—we can all agree that a cold night with a big bowl of noodle-y, saucy goodness is good for the soul. So celebrate National Spaghetti Day on January 4th with this amazing dish!

MHS History Moment

During the 1965-1966 school year, construction began on a new building at MHS. The new building would have a metal shop and a wood shop, as well as classrooms. The new building opened for students in the fall of 1966. An MHS student from the 80’s might remember the building being home to: Mr Serfozo’s math class, Senora Grube’s spanish class, Mr. Hess’ wood shop class, Mr. Knudsen’s ag class/metal shop class and Mr. Hollod’s social studies class. This building was used until construction began on the new MHS building that we are in today.
