Dear Meridian High School Community,
I hope this message finds you well and that you have been enjoying the start of the school year. We’ve just wrapped up an exciting and busy second week, and I want to encourage you to participate in next week’s events:
1. Early Release for Conferences:
We value the partnership between our dedicated educators and supportive families. To facilitate meaningful discussions about your student’s progress, we have scheduled early release days on September 12th, 13th, and 14th for conferences. If you have not already scheduled a conference, please do so today. Your involvement in these conferences is essential for your student’s academic success.
2. Back-to-School Resource Fair:
We are excited to invite you to our Back-to-School Resource Fair, which will take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This event is an excellent opportunity to learn about the various resources available to our students and families in the school and community.
3. Open House:
Following the Resource Fair, we will host our Open House from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This is a chance for you to meet your student’s teachers, learn about their classroom routines and expectations, and gain insights into the curriculum for the year ahead. We encourage all parents and guardians to attend and get acquainted with our staff.
We are thrilled about these upcoming events and look forward to seeing you there. Your active participation in your student’s education is invaluable, and these opportunities will help strengthen our school community and ensure a successful school year for everyone.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in Meridian High School. If you have any questions or require further information about these events, please feel free to contact our school office at 360-398-8111. If you need translation support, please contact our cultural liaison, Elvira Trautman at 360-306-2886.
Sincerely,
MHS Office Team

MHS Fall Conferences on September 12th, 13th and 14th
As a result of conferences this week, the school will be on an early release schedule, with school ending at 12:10 p.m. “Grab & Go” lunch will be provided each of those days. This means students will need to pick up their lunch right after school before leaving campus.
If you have not signed up for a conference, please refer to the ParentSquare message sent out on Thursday for details on how to sign up via Skyward. If you can’t make any of the times still open, please contact your student’s Homeroom teacher for an alternative time.

Patriot Day – September 11th
On September 11, Patriot Day gives all of us time to reflect on the devastating terror attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives. The bravery of American citizens and uniformed personnel in the face of one of the world’s most terrible terrorist attacks is remembered on Patriot Day. On Patriot Day, U.S. flags are lowered halfway, and there is a country-wide moment of silence at 8:46 am (Eastern Daylight Time), which is when the first plane crashed into one of the Twin Towers. Although the attacks were in the U.S., Patriot Day is recognized worldwide as the news devastated and impacted people all over the world. |
