Recently a graph of our school’s five year graduation rate was shared with me. A five year graduation rate tracks the percentage of students that graduated at least one year after their anticipated graduation year.
I am very pleased to announce that our five year grad rate for the class of 2018 was OVER 97%. This is the highest in the county of any high school for the past four years (and maybe more years beyond that. The data wasn’t available on this graph). 
There are many people who have made this possible. Our students continue to work hard. MHS staff match their high expectations with great teaching and support. MSD K-12 district and building staff also prepared our students for their work in high school. All of that work began with the ongoing support of parents, families, and the Laurel community. This is something we all had a part in and our community should be very proud of this accomplishment. The bar is set high, let’s continue to help our students clear that bar.
