Dear Meridian High School Community,

As we enter the month of February, I am excited for the opportunity to celebrate Black History Month with our students, staff, and families. This month serves as a reminder of the immeasurable contributions and achievements of Black individuals throughout history, and it is essential that we take this time to honor their legacy and impact on our society.

At Meridian High School, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Black History Month provides us with a valuable opportunity to reflect on the struggles and triumphs of the Black community and to recognize the profound influence of Black culture on our collective identity.

Our Multicultural Club is honoring Black History Month with their engaging display in our halls. Featured prominently is a timeline detailing the complexities of Black history in the United States. The oppression, progress, enslavement, and liberation is thoughtfully portrayed to emphasize moments of empowerment and resilience amidst adversity.

I encourage all members of our school community to take part in these activities and to embrace this opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate diversity. Let’s use this month not only to honor the past but also to inspire a future where equality, justice, and respect are universal principles.

Thank you for your continued support and participation.   If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 360.398.8111. If you need translation support, please contact our cultural liaison, Elvira Trautman at 360.306.2886.

Sincerely,
MHS Office Team

Families – CEE Survey

We want to hear from you!

For us to continue to improve as a school district and as a school, it is important for us to understand how we are doing in providing a quality education for all students.

Please take a moment to complete this annual survey which helps us better understand areas we need to focus on in order to provide the best quality education for our students. This survey will also serve as data for us as we continue to work toward meeting our goals outlined in Our Commitments, our strategic plan. The survey asks how you feel about several topics including school communication, expectations for learning, and engaging with teachers and administrators.

Please complete this survey by March 8.

Love is in the air on Valentine’s Day on February 14. Even though we believe that love should be spread and celebrated every day, we don’t always remember to do that. So on this dedicated day, go above and beyond in expressing your love for family, friends, and of course, your significant other.
