Dear Meridian High School Community:

Welcome to the start of the second semester! Let’s take this fresh start and begin by setting the tone for success. Here are some key ideas to think about:

1. Communicate with Your Teachers:
Open lines of communication are essential. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers if you have questions or need clarification on any topic. Building a strong teacher-student relationship is a foundation for success.

2. T3 Sessions: Plan for Success:
Take advantage of our in-school intervention time, T3. Plan your sessions wisely and make informed decisions about the subjects you need assistance with. Use this time to reinforce your understanding and stay on track with your coursework.

3. TLC – After School Tutoring:
If you find yourself falling behind or needing extra help, don’t hesitate to attend our after-school tutoring sessions, TLC. Our dedicated staff are here to support you in various subjects. Regular attendance can make a significant difference in your academic progress.

4. Prioritize Regular and On-Time Attendance:
Consistency is key. Attend all of your classes regularly and on time. Being present and engaged will enhance your learning experience and contribute to your success.

5. Prioritize Self-Care – Get Good Sleep:
A well-rested mind is more productive. Ensure you are getting enough sleep each night to maintain focus and concentration during your classes. A good night’s sleep is a fundamental aspect of overall well-being.

6. Develop a Growth Mindset:
Approach challenges with a growth mindset. Embrace the opportunity to learn and grow from every experience. Remember that your abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work.

Let’s make this semester a remarkable one by being proactive, seeking support when needed, and embracing a positive mindset. Your success is our priority, and we believe in your potential to achieve greatness.

Wishing you a fantastic second semester!

Sincerely,

MHS Office Team

Class Changes

With the semester ending on Thursday, January 25th, students may be looking at their schedules and wanting to make a change. Class change forms will be available in the office, at Mrs. Blankenship’s desk, beginning Monday, January 29th.  Students need to complete a class change form and turn it into the basket provided on the counter. Counselors will assess the student’s requests compared to graduation requirements still outstanding and decide if a change is possible.

Acceptable Reasons For A Class Change:

  1. Elective for elective in the same period.
  2. Placed in the wrong level of a class.
  3. Previously taken the class.

To find out if their class change is approved, students can check the alpha file, on Mrs. Blankenship’s counter later in the day.

The last day to request a class change is January 31st, 2024 at end of day.

    Spring Conferences

Meridian High School will have their spring semester conferences take place on February 6th, 7th and 8th. Spring semester conferences follow a different format than the conferences that took place in September.  In February, students are selected to attend a conference with some of their current teachers based on their current academic progress.  This will include but is not limited to, seniors not on track to graduate and students who failed multiple classes during the fall semester of this school.  These conferences will take place over all three days.
Parents/guardians will be able to meet with any of their student’s teachers during arena conferences on the evening of February 6th.
