Dear Meridian High School Community,
On Thursday we came together as a school community to celebrate Veterans Day with a special assembly dedicated to honoring our nation’s veterans.
Veterans Day is a time for all of us to pause and express our gratitude to the men and women who have selflessly served our country in the armed forces. These brave individuals have made significant sacrifices to protect the freedoms and values we hold dear, and it’s crucial that we take the time to show our appreciation and respect for their service.
Our assembly served as a reminder of the dedication and sacrifice of our veterans. It provided an opportunity for our students to learn about the history and significance of Veterans Day, and to gain a deeper understanding of the values that our armed forces work tirelessly to uphold.
The event also featured a guest speaker who shared her personal experiences and insights, helping our students connect on a more personal level with the stories of our veterans. It was a moving and educational experience for all in attendance.
It is essential for our students to understand the importance of showing gratitude and respect for our veterans, not only on Veterans Day but throughout the year. These individuals have made great sacrifices for our nation, and we should always strive to honor their commitment.
Thank you to all who participated in our Veterans Day assembly, and to all who have served or continue to serve in the military. Your sacrifice and dedication are deeply appreciated.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 360.398.8111. If you need translation support, please contact our cultural liaison, Elvira Trautman at 360.306.2886.
Sincerely,
MHS Office Team

National Apple Cider Day – November 18th
Apple Cider Day is celebrated on November 18 every year. The day celebrates the rich and fruity beverage that fills our hearts and bodies with warmth. They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but a glass of apple cider at the end of a long day can rejuvenate the soul. Apple cider is made from freshly harvested apples that are mashed and made to resemble applesauce. This is then pressed to extract fresh juice and fermented. After the fermentation process is done, we get the sweet and spicy apple cider — the seasonal Autumn drink. |
