We are committed to proactive, consistent and clear two-way communication that is accessible for all. Our cultural liaison, Elvira Trautman, helps us achieve that by ensuring all families, especially those whose first language is Spanish, feel included and informed. Mrs. Trautman has been a beloved part of the Meridian community for many years. In her role as cultural liaison, she has established meaningful relationships with our families, and connects school and home for many families.
Mrs. Trautman is available for families, answering questions about school, and being a kind and welcoming presence at school events where she also provides interpretation. She understands our families want to be part of the school experience for their children and helps all parents achieve this by communicating in Spanish. She often checks in with families, following up with them to make sure they don’t miss important events. This inclusive atmosphere is vital for fostering a positive school culture and promoting student success.
Mrs. Trautman exemplifies our core value of communication by effectively communicating with parents, keeping them well-informed and involved in our schools. She ensures all families feel connected. Her work affirms that all voices are honored, valued and heard, creating an inclusive and supportive environment. We are incredibly grateful for her contributions to our school community!
