As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to remind you that we will have an early dismissal on Wednesday, November 27th, at 1:15 p.m. There will be no school on Thursday, November 28th, and Friday, November 29th.
We hope everyone has a wonderful time with friends and family, and we look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday, December 2nd. Wishing you all a joyful and restful holiday!
Lastly, we are canceling the Math Night on December 10th and also cancelling the February 11th event for conferences.

If arriving before 3:30 p.m., please park in the gravel lot. Arriving after 3:30 p.m. ensures direct entry into the car lane.
If walking up to wait for your student, please leave the entryway and walkways clear (see map)
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and running smoothly!

The Whatcom Family Y will be holding an open house on December 7th from 11:30-1:30 throughout our entire facility. The event is for ages 3-12 year olds and their families to inform them what options are out there for being active in winter time and beyond. We’ll have free pizza, door prizes, lots of activities including basketball, soccer, swimming, climbing wall, family yoga and pictures with Santa for a suggested donation of $5. Best of all, the event is FREE!! You don’t have to be a Y member to attend, this is open to all Whatcom County families. This is an amazing opportunity for families to come talk with program coordinators and get any questions answered. We look forward to seeing everyone on December 7th.

We are accepting referrals for the highly capable program. Highly capable students are those who perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced academic levels when compared with others of their age, experiences, or environments. Teachers and parents may refer any student in grades K-11 for assessment.
To refer a student for assessment, please complete the Highly Capable referral form by December 13, 2024 for eligibility in the 2025-26 school year.
If you have questions about the Highly Capable Program visit our website or contact Rebecca Montgomery, highly capable program coordinator, at 360-318-2456 or rmontgomery@meridian.wednet.edu.

We need your input! We appreciate your ongoing support for our students and schools. Recently, our school construction bond fell short of the 60% approval needed to pass. To better understand the community’s needs and concerns, we invite you to complete a brief, anonymous survey. Your feedback is vital as we work to address the essential needs of our schools. Please complete this brief survey by 5 p.m. Monday, December 2.
