Principal Message
Spring has sprung! As we close out Week 31 of a 40 week school year, we have a whirlwind of activities and updates! The PTA hosts Reptile Man this coming week on Tuesday, April 23rd, where kids get to meet all sorts of reptiles and you’re sure to leave with a ton of smiles and stories. The event is usually packed, so please come early. Additionally, we are also very excited to see the beautiful art from our very own IRE students at the district Art Show on May 6th. Come check it out! It is a terrific event.
Last, our school staff comes together during the month of May to make thoughtful placements and pairing for the next school year. At IRE, we make classroom placements that balance classes academically and socially, with thoughtful intentions toward friendships. This approach is rooted in cultivating the strongest sense of belonging possible while also encouraging students to spark new relationships with other students. Further, we do not make placements based upon the teacher. The reason for this is that teachers may change grade levels based upon enrollment or for a variety of other reasons.
Our staff look forward to taking family and student input to inform our decisions. Please leave any comments you would like to share about your child, their experiences or other important information that you would like the school to know. Our teachers look at this information as a team, so if there is anything private you would like to share, please reach out to one of our school counselors, Catherine Mullett (Grades TK, 1, 3, 5) at
cmullett@meridian.wednet.edu or Sabrina Kalil
skalil@meridian.wednet.edu (Grades K, 2, 4).
If you would like to give us this information, please have the survey completed by May 1st.
Best,
Tyler Dockins, Principal
School Dismissal Manager App
Please remember to use the School Dismissal Manager app when your student will be going home a different way. This is the system we use to let teachers know how your student is going home.
With over 760 students at IRE, we need your help in entering this information. In lieu of sending a note with your student, please enter the information in the SDM app.
You may also report absences, late arrivals and early pickups on the SDM app. |
