Principal Message
IRE Families! The middle of the year is an opportunity to step back and look at our achievement data, debrief our lesson planning and to spend time thinking about how we respond to the learning results that we see in our school. From this, teachers share strategies with each other to spread best practice. Additionally, we identify with precision what steps we need to take to support all of our learners. All of this is not possible without our community support and partnership. Thank you for the conferences, the conversations, the community support through levies and everything you do at home. We are seeing a higher percentage of students on grade level because of this work. You are making a difference. As we continue through the year, please continue to underscore the importance of attendance with your family. Every second, minute, hour and day counts. Additionally, we spent some time in teams looking at iReady Personalized learning pathways. One key point of emphasis that we discussed is that when students pass 2 lessons per week per subject, they hit their stretch growth goal. We would love to invite you in on that collective goal for our students. An important note, we also want to avoid students being in front of screens. Join us in talking about “working with purpose” to help build efficient work habits. Typically, to hit this goal it takes about 30 minutes per subject per week. Our families can support by: – Check in with your student and their iReady pathway, ask questions about how they are doing. As always, if you have questions feel free to reach out to your teacher. Sometimes, expectations and processes are different at each grade level. Best,

Attendance
We want to express gratitude to families who communicate in advance regarding extended absences due to family emergencies or once-in-a-lifetime vacations. If your child has a planned absence exceeding 3 school days, please contact the office in advance of your absence in order to fill out the Planned Absence Form. This allows us to update Skyward to reflect the absences and contact teachers so they have awareness and can provide suggestions for activities to do to support the learning being done in school.
