Principal Message

IRE Families,

We hope that everyone is doing well, and filled with anticipation for the events happening this month at school. As we approach the upcoming family conferences, we would like to express our gratitude for signing up for those quickly. Our goal is to have more than 95% of families in during that time. If you haven’t already signed up, we encourage you to reach out to your teacher. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and collaborate with teachers to support your child’s academic journey.

Additionally, our CEE survey is out. This is a very important survey that helps us make decisions as a school and informs our planning for the the 2024-2025 school year. Please take some time to fill this survey out.

Lastly, we want to also highlight that February marks Black History Month. This is a time to celebrate and recognize the remarkable contributions of black Americans throughout history. We encourage our families to explore this rich heritage together. For age-appropriate materials and resources on Black History month, consider checking out books, documentaries and online platforms that offer engaging and informative content. Personally, I love common sense media as a resource to find the most appropriate resources for my kids. There is a great way to filter by age to find the right information for my own elementary children. Further, you could explore the National Museum of African American History and Culture website or go to PBS LearningMedia: Black History Month Collection as well.

Let’s take this opportunity to learn, reflect, and celebrate the diversity that enriches our community. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to meaningful conversations and celebrations ahead.

Best,
Tyler

Valentine’s Day – February 14

Please remember, Valentine cards are welcome at school. We ask that candy NOT be sent to school.  Please refer to teacher communication regarding celebrations.

If the classroom teacher approves Valentine snacks in the classroom, we ask that all snacks are brought to the office in building A on or before Monday, February 12.  Snacks brought after that are not guaranteed to make it to the classroom by Valentine’s Day.

All snacks must be on our “Safe Foods” list.
