A Message from Superintendent James Everett

Dear Irene Reither Elementary School families,

We are excited to share some leadership updates with you.

We have hired two outstanding individuals to join the leadership team at Irene Reither Elementary School. Please join me in welcoming and congratulating Trisha Norman and Nate Beede.

Trisha Norman will be joining Irene Reither Elementary School as assistant principal. Ms. Norman has 20 years of elementary teaching experience, with 15 of those in Bellingham Public Schools. She has taught music for PreK through fifth grade. For the past four years, Ms. Norman has been the districtwide PK-8 music coordinator for Bellingham Public Schools. She completed her administrative internship at Carl Cozier Elementary School in 2019 and has been the building designee at Wade King Elementary School since 2019. Ms. Norman earned her principal’s certification in July 2020. She has a master’s degree in music performance and a bachelor’s degree in education with a focus in K-12 general and instrumental music. Ms. Norman is known for her collaborative style of leadership and is looking forward to building strong relationships with the IRE school community to continue to foster a positive and joyful learning environment.

Nate Beede who has been the instructional dean of students at Irene Reither Elementary School since January 2022 will continue in his role next school year. In addition, Mr. Beede is working to obtain his certification to be an assistant principal. Mr. Beede has already built strong connections with both students and staff at Irene Reither and looks forward to continuing to support the school.

Meet our Principal Candidate

We have been working diligently since early May reviewing potential candidates to fill this important role at Irene Reither.

This year presented additional challenges with statewide employee shortages, but we are confident in the candidate we are introducing. We thank you for your patience while we continue the hiring process.

We are happy to present a qualified candidate to meet with families and the community from 5 to 5:45 p.m. on Monday, June 13. We know this is short notice, but we wanted to give families and the community an opportunity to meet our candidate before the end of the school year.
