Hello IRE Families,

We are off to a great start this year! I’ve had the chance to teach and read in almost every classroom already. We had lots of fun together, reviewed our expectations and I started learning our students’ names. That will be a big job!

The staff has been busy helping students remember our Trojan Traits in classrooms, the hallways, our cafeteria and so many other learning spaces. One way we celebrate success demonstrating the Trojan Trait is at our monthly assembly. This month we will celebrate students who are consistently modeling being safe. If your student is selected as one of our students being honored at the assembly, you will be notified and we look forward to seeing you there.

Yesterday I got to host our first Trojan Talk Time for families to meet with me and learn about some changes to our approach to behavior and to ask questions. I shared with families that we have started the year focused on building relationships. We have also worked to be consistent with our responses to behavior. The flow map below shows how we are supporting and responding to behavior at IRE.

As we do our best to support all students with meeting the expectations it is important we work together in partnership for your children. I’m looking forward to our upcoming events and to meeting more of you,
