Principal’s Message

As we approach these last few weeks of the school year, I’d like to share my gratitude for the focus and resilience in finishing this school year strong. Every day is an opportunity for students to learn and prepare for the next steps in their educational journey. Attendance is the highest in the past five years, classrooms are both focused and joyful, and we are working together as a strong community. Thank you for all of your support and continued family-school partnership.

Also, please remember that there will be no school on Monday, May 27th, in observance of Memorial Day. This day is an important time for reflection and gratitude for those who have served our country.

You may find it helpful share with your family the history behind Memorial Day or attend a local event (like the Whatcom County Memorial Day Parade).

Best,
Tyler Dockins, Principal

SBA Testing
Grades 3-5 will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessment May 14 – 25. Assessment is an important part of our overall learning at IRE. Our goal is for testing to be an authentic part of the learning process and accurate reflection of how students are performing. Home partnership plays a vital role.

Student Pick-Up Reminder

Please arrive between 3:25-3:40pm for student pick-up. If arriving before 3:25, proceed to the gravel lot. This will allow the end of the day traffic to flow smoothly and prevent backups.
