Principal Message
IRE Families,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we have less than 10 weeks left until summer break. Just like in sporting events, the fourth quarter is crucial, and finishing strong is everything.
As a school leader, I often emphasize to our students that how they finish this year sets the tone for the next. It’s the perfect time for adjustments to routines and setting new goals, especially with reading, iReady or working on a variety of relationship/SEL skills. There’s no need to wait until next year to start.
Additionally, teachers have shared information on how to interpret the 3rd quarter progress reports, for each grade level, now accessible on Skyward. Please take some time to review the progress report guide sent out by each team this week. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.
Let’s make these last weeks count and finish the year strong together!
Best regards,
Tyler Dockins
Principal

New grass on our fields
Thanks to the efforts of grounds and maintenance and our recess team, as well as the generous partnership of Meridian Youth Sports, we are seeing new grass growing after seeding happened over spring break. Please be looking out for signage and field markers indicating areas to keep off. Thank you for the collective effort to keep our fields in the best shape possible for our school and community. |

Children learn through play and engaging hands-on experiences. In kindergarten, children will learn how to make friends, share, and grow in many ways. They will learn to read, write and develop math skills.
Know a child turning 4 by Sept. 1?
Apply for our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program! TK is a free, full-day early entrance kindergarten experience for children who are scheduled to enter kindergarten the following year.
To be eligible, children must turn 4 by Sept. 1, 2024 and demonstrate academic, language or social need and cannot be currently enrolled in another early learning program. Apply by registering your child online at
www.meridian.wednet.edu/ire/early-childhood.
Shout Out to Mrs. Rosen!
As a former elementary music teacher, I want to give a shout out to Mrs. Rosen for using the power of music to bring our IRE community together!
Last year was a special year coming out of the pandemic and we were able to enjoy performances from all the grade levels. As you may imagine, an incredible amount of work goes into creating these opportunities…especially given the students only have 45 minutes a week of music instruction!
Starting this year and going forward, students will have grade level performances every other year. If your child loves music and wants more performing opportunities, we encourage them to join the Choir and/or Marimba Club.
Once again, a mountain of gratitude for Mrs. Rosen and all our IRE musicians!
