Responding to stress, in a healthy way, is essential for overcoming challenges and hardships of everyday life. In the Meridian School District, we believe in cultivating our overall well-being and belonging through a healthy approach and response. This includes our physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being. Research shows that wellness is a process of change and growth. The following can help us reach our goal of a healthy and fulfilling life:
- Close social networks of friends and family (connectedness)
- Healthy self-esteem (mindfulness)
- Regular exercise
- Flexibility to adapt to changes
- Feelings of belonging to school, work, and neighborhood
- Optimistic outlook towards the future
