A Message from Superintendent Dr. James Everett
Welcome back to a new and exciting school year! I enjoyed visiting each of our schools today. It was truly heartwarming to see the smiles and excitement on the faces of our students, staff and families.
As we enter the new school year, we want to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance. Every day is a new opportunity filled with meaningful moments. Whether it’s a moment of discovery in the classroom, a moment of connection on the playground, or a moment of support from our dedicated staff. These are the moments that create an amazing school year and set up our students for success. September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we encourage all students to attend school consistently to maximize their learning opportunities and achieve their full potential.
We are dedicated to providing an outstanding educational experience for our students. Using our strategic plan, Our Commitments, as a guide, we will be focusing on the following areas this year:
  • Belonging: Learners experience a community that embraces and honors who they are.
  • Communication: Open communication is encouraged and valued between staff, students and our community.
  • Support: Students engage in their own progress using self-assessment and goal setting.
  • Wellness: Students are taught strategies for emotional regulation and problem-solving.
  • Learning: Meridian graduates are prepared for their career and life goals.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our schools. Let’s make this year the best one yet!
