2020 Technology Levy
We are currently in the process of developing our educational technology plan for 2025-2029.
Our previous plan helped us develop our technology levy which was voted on and approved by voters in February 2020. Thanks to community support we have been able to make great progress on our goals (see infographic on left).
Our previous technology levy passed with 60% of the vote in February 2020. In March 2020, our district had to shift plans quickly to support the sudden need for remote instruction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This meant our original plan to provide one-to-one devices for middle and high school and one device per two students in elementary school had to accelerate and change.
Our technology team met this challenge by being creative with grants and temporary COVID relief funds until technology levy funds became available in May 2021. We were able to focus on not only supporting students with remote instruction but also making strides on the voter-approved technology levy.
Teachers are integrating technology into lessons in creative and interactive ways. Here are just a few examples from our schools:

Looking ahead, we want to continue to improve technology in Meridian. We have outlined a few key areas for our draft 2025-2029 technology plan:
Teaching and Learning
- Hire second instructional coach
- Professional learning for staff
- Curriculum that uses technology to support core instruction
Safety and Communication
- Expand security cameras at all schools
Infrastructure
- Fund full-time technology support technician
- Upgrade network infrastructure
- Replace network server
Classroom Technology
- Update classroom technology at MP3, MHS and IRE Building A to district standards
Devices and Equipment
- Student and staff laptops replacements
- Update CTE computer lab
