December Activities Fill Our Schedules

Happy Holiday’s!!!…Now, there is a greeting that we will be hearing more and more often as the holidays draw near.  This is a very busy time of year for families. Meridian Middle School students and staff will be getting into the holiday spirit by “Decking the Halls” over the next couple of days. Students and staff will be designing and decorating their 1st period classroom doors with a holiday or winter theme.

We are all too aware that with winter comes inclement weather.   Notification of Delays or Closures: With winter weather approaching it is always nice to receive communication about school delays and closures. Meridian uses Flash Alert that notifies all major radio and TV media outlets of any delays or closures.  Be sure to listen or watch local stations regarding school closures or delays. You can set up your alert at http://www.flashalert.net/signup.html for Meridian school delays or closures information.

With the knowledge that this is a very busy time of year, I would like to encourage everyone to slow down, take a breath and save some time for a family activity or two.  This is a great time of year to go through your clothes closets and make a clothing donation to the local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Or, you may wish to make a food donation to the Food Bank.  A Sanderson family favorite was riding around looking at holiday lights and displays. Another holiday and winter event may include the Christmas Festival at Bellwood Farms.  Christmas is always a festive time at Bellewood Farms! Take a free photo with the real Santa, live music, horse-drawn sleigh-rides, caroling, bonfires, smores, hot apple cider and much more. Christmas Festival is on Saturday and Sunday through December 22. Whatever you decide to do, do it together as a family.

On behalf of all of us here at Meridian Middle School, I would like to wish you all a safe, and happy holiday season.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Jerry Sanderson
