Following the notification of your child's assessments, as a parent, you have the opportunity to appeal the decision based on WAS392-170-176. You may start this process by submitting a letter of appeal. The letter should include the rationale for the request with supporting details and any outside standardized assessment not previously considered that demonstrates the child's outstanding abilities. All appeals for the current school year should be received by the Highly Capable Teacher/Coordinator within two weeks of receiving notification of your child's assements.
Process for appeal
Each district shall adpot a procedure for appealing the multidisciplinary selection committee's decision and disseminate this procedure to the public.
